The ELR exists mainly on the efforts of volunteer workers who get nothing for their trouble other the pleasure of keeping one of the country's major preserved railways running. If you would like to help in the running of our railway then please visit the Volunteers page on this web site to find out more.

National Travel Passes

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PASSENGERS ELIGIBLE TO NATIONAL TRAVEL PASSES FROM 1st APRIL 2008

Please note that the East Lancashire Railway does not provide free travel to passengers in possession of the new National Travel Passes. However, concession rate travel is available to passengers with these passes.


Free Bus Travel for East Lancashire Railway Passengers

Passengers arriving by ELR train at Rawtenstall can now travel free to Rawtenstall Town Centre & Market on Rossendale Transport bus services 482 and 483.
