The festive period might still be a few months away, but rejoice for Christmas is already in full swing here at the East Lancashire Railway.

Of course, no festive season at the railway would be complete without our popular Santa Specials.

This year’s steam-hauled trains return once again from 27th November to 24th December 2010 with Santa Claus on board delivering presents to every child as well as a mince pie and sherry for the grown ups.

Be dazzled by the magical walk-through grotto lit by over 200 Christmas trees, beautifully decorated carriages, brass bands playing carols on the train and costumed characters and join Santa Claus on his train journey through winter wonderland.

Our Santa Special steam trains are extremely popular and early booking is recommended.
