'Night RIder Specials' Fares 
Normal travel tickets are not available on the special Night Rider services.
Only Night Rider Rovers or the following special flat fares are available.
The flat fares are valid for a maximum of one full line return.
However a Two Day (Weekend) Rover also includes free travel on the Night Rider!

Notes

  • Full Line Round Trip Tickets and Family Tickets are valid for all-day travel, except on Jimmy the Jinty & Friends events when Special Fares apply and on Special Events when Special Event Day Rover Tickets are available. When Special Event Day Rover Tickets are available a Full Line Round Trip Tickets allows one complete return journey to be made.
  • Normal ticketing may be withdrawn on certain special events.
  • Family Tickets allow travel by 2 Adults & up to 2 Children or 1 Adult & up to 3 Children.
  • Special Event Rover Tickets are available for Midweek and Weekend Special Event FARES TIMETABLE 2010 travel. See our website or call the Information Office for details of Rover Ticket Fares for each of our Special Events.
  • Except on Jimmy the Jinty & Friends event days and Santa Special services, child fares apply to children aged 5 to 15 years inclusive and accompanied children under 5 travel free of charge. On Jimmy the Jinty & Friends event days and Santa Specials, child fares apply to children aged 3 to 15 years inclusive.
  • All Booking Offices accept payment by cash and cheque supported by guarantee card. At weekends and Bank Holidays, payment by Credit and Debit Card can be made at Bury Booking Office only.

TRAVEL TICKETS

Single and Return tickets are normally available between any station.

Child Fares

Child Fares apply to children aged 5 to 15 years inclusive (3-15 years on Jimmy the Jinty Events). Accompanied children under 5 (under 3 on Jimmy the Jinty Events) travel free of charge.

Concessionary Fares

Concessionary fares apply to Senior Citizens aged 60 and above, ELRPS Members (on production of a valid membership card), the Registered Disabled and one assisting adult with each disabled person.

Family Tickets

Family return tickets are available for up to two adults and two children on certain longer journeys only.

Rover Tickets

Full line return tickets are valid for travel all day, except on Jimmy the Jinty and Special Events (ie Diesel and Steam Events as listed in the public timetable).

On Special Events, Rover tickets provide unlimited travel. Please date stamp all Rover tickets ON THE FRONT to assist those checking them. Animals, luggage and accompanied items There is currently no charge for animals, luggage or accompanied items that are carried in accordance with our Conditions of Carriage.

 

ATOC & HRA PASSES

Flat fare – a maximum of one full line return £3.10. Not valid for all day travel. No Day Rover is available, but the holder may purchase more than one full line return ticket.

 

PLATFORM TICKETS

Platform tickets are normally available at manned stations – see appendix 4. They are valid at the station of issue only and on the date of issue only.

ELRPS members are entitled to free access to platforms on production of their membership card.

FREE TICKETS & PASSES

ELR Complimentary Pass

Issued to Directors and founder members. The named holder may travel free on all scheduled services.

ELR Complimentary Tickets

Valid for ONE free full line return journey only.

ELRPS Members

Full members benefit from 3 free full line return tickets per year, indicated by the boxes A to C on the rear of their membership card. Free travel is not available on certain Events but concessionary fares are available all the time.

Family members are entitled to 1 free ticket, then 50% off the normal family return tickets.

ELR Working Members

Free travel on most scheduled services is available to our working members and their partners on presentation of a valid ELLRCo free travel pass.

‘Reciprocal Arrangement’ Passes

We have reciprocal arrangements with certain other preserved railways normally providing free travel on each others’ services for working members. The participating railways are Embsay (Yorshire Dales), Great Central, Keighley & Worth Valley, Kent & East Sussex, Llangollen and Severn Valley.

Tourist Board Staff

Free travel is available to English Tourist Board and Marketing Manchester staff on production of their pass.
